Makino Tadamasa (牧野忠雅)

Tadamasa MAKINO (December 2, 1799 - November 30, 1858) was a daimyo (Japanese feudal lord) and a roju (member of shogun's council of elders) who lived in the Edo period. The tenth lord of the Echigo Nagaoka Domain. The eleventh Soke (head family, originator) of the Makino clan with ties to the Nagaoka Domain.

The forth son of Tadakiyo MAKINO, the ninth lord of the domain. His mother was the daughter of Tadataka AOYAMA. Lawful wife was the daughter of Tadazane OKUBO. Official court ranks were Jushiinoge (Junior Fourth Rank, Lower Grade), Bizen no kuni no kami (Governor of Bizen Province), and jiju (a chamberlain). After being sojaban (an official in charge of the ceremonies), jisha-bugyo (magistrate of temples and shrines), and Kyoto shoshidai (The Kyoto deputy), he became a roju and was in charge of the coastal defense department.
